Giving something back
We believe in ‘Giving something back’. So we’ve appointed a group of employees from across the business to help ensure we make a positive contribution to the environment, and to the communities we operate in.
We aim to:
- Minimise any adverse environmental impact of our operations
- Invest in programmes and partnerships which bring sustainable improvements to the communities we live and work in
- Be fair and responsible in our dealings with customers, our partners and other associates
Charities
Each year we support a number of local and national charities. In 2011, we are helping:
- Noah’s Ark (a children’s hospice service based in Enfield, North London)
- The Leukaemia Society
- The Thalassaemia Society
We also operate a ‘Give As You Earn’ Scheme where the bank matches employee donations (up to an agreed limit) to their chosen charities.
Local Schools Artwork Project
We operate a Local Schools Artwork Project near our offices in Southgate, Birmingham and Croydon. We encourage the art departments of local state schools to use our public spaces as galleries. We organise the framing and display of the student works, and invite teachers, parents, carers and students to a reception to celebrate the work.
We also provide the schools with financial support for specific initiatives.
