Mobile Banking
If you have a mobile phone or tablet that supports internet browsing, you can have access to all your account details, get text alerts, make transfers between accounts and pay bills at your convenience.

Free text message service
With our text service, you can keep track of your account on your mobile phone by choosing from the following free text services:
- Weekly balance - receive details of your transactions every Monday morning
- Statement alerts – we will text you when your online statement is available
- Daily balance updates
- Limit alerts - we will text you when your available balance has fallen below £100
- Balance range information – we will text you if your balance is outside the range you set
- Transaction alerts – we will text you if any transaction takes place that matches or exceeds the amount you choose
- On Demand Services - you can request your balance or your recent transaction history at any time by texting to 87293 (or +44 7786 200 052 from outside the UK). On Demand services allow you to request the following:
- Retrieve Bank Balance - Text "BALANCE" then the last four digits of your account number
e.g. BALANCE 1234
- View a mini statement - Text "STMT" then the last four digits of your account number
e.g. STMT 1234
- Transfer money between your accounts - Text "TRANSFER From" then the last four digits of the account you are transferring from followed by the amount in whole pounds then "To" then the last four digits of the account you are transferring to followed by the amount in whole pounds
e.g. TRANSFER 1234 To 5678 100
You need to have on-demand services set up on all accounts you wish to use this service with. The accounts need to be current accounts (or instant access) in the same currency under the same customer number
- Activate a debit card - Text "CARD" then the last four digits of the card number followed by the last 4 digits of the account number
e.g. CARD 1234 5678
How to manage your text alerts
You can manage your text alerts:
- Via the 'Account Services' menu on Online Banking
- By calling our Customer Service team on 0845 850 5555 between 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 12.30pm Saturday. Calls may be recorded for monitoring and training.

SMS delivery cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the SMS network
Please note that your mobile phone service provider may charge you for text messages and internet browsing, as well as receiving text messages abroad. If you are not sure please check with them.
Our text service can only be used on a mobile phone compatible with a UK network. It cannot be used on a fixed line telephone, a computer capable of receiving SMS or a ‘virtual’ mobile phone number beginning with ‘070’. Some older mobile phones may not be compatible with our text service.
