Under the Data Protection Act 1998 “the Act”, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We use the latest technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data, and we maintain strict security measures to prevent any unauthorised access to your data by anyone, including our staff.

Our privacy policy is regularly reviewed to make sure that we continue to provide the highest level of privacy to all of our customers. Personal Information

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms and applications in secure sections of our website. This includes, for example, information provided through Online Banking or online applications for deposits or other products. We may also ask you for information if you happen to report a problem with our site.

Telephone Banking

When you call us, we will verify your identity by asking you a number of questions based on information known to us about you and the transactions on your account. We may record your telephone conversations with us for training and quality control purposes.

IP Addresses

Your IP address is the individual identification number that is assigned to your computer when connected to the Internet. This is automatically logged by our web-server and Online Banking application. Unless we suspect fraud, we do not use your IP address to identify you personally.

We use Sitestat, a product of Comscore, on this website to measure and analyse information with respect to visits to our website. To that effect we use your IP-address to collect, among other things, internet traffic data and information such as your browser type.

Cookies

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on your browser or the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our website and to deliver a better and more personalised service. Some of the cookies we use are essential for the website to operate. The cookie contains merely a unique number and therefore no personal data. The cookie cannot be used to identify you on websites of third parties, including Comscore. We use the services of Comscore to increase the efficiency of our websites.

On 26 May 2011, the rules about cookies on websites changed. This website and our Online Banking Service both use cookies but only cookies that are essential for parts of the site to operate and have already been set. Storing Your Personal Data

Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information. We and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when:

  • checking details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities;
  • managing credit and credit related accounts or facilities;
  • recovering debt;
  • checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance;
  • checking details of job applicants and employees;
  • We and other organisations may access and use from other countries the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes.
