Contacting Action Fraud
Once you have contacted us to report a fraud, you can also report the matter to Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting centre. Action Fraud is a service run by the National Fraud Authority, a government agency that helps to co-ordinate the fight against fraud in the UK. They act as a central point of contact for information about fraud and provide you with help and support.
You can report fraud to Action Fraud by using one of the following options:
- by phone on 0300 123 2040, if you are calling from within the UK or
- online via their website, using their fraud reporting tool at http://www.actionfraud.org.uk.
If you report a fraud to Action Fraud, you will be given a crime reference number and your report and contact details will be passed to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) which is run by the Police service.
